A Review of the Current Cattle Rustling Phenomenon in Nigeria and Some of the Existing Technologies for Combating the Menace

Abstract

Cattle rustling are a global phenomenon that has gradually manifested both in dimension and veracity across nation states. In Nigeria today, the sophistication of cattle rustling has been associated with spiral violence being witnessed in different parts of the country and is characterised by the massive use of weapons. In this review, we look at the present dynamics of cattle rustling, the efforts of the state in handling it and some of the existing technologies being used in tackling the menace.
