Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Law Journal

We respectfully present this current issue of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Law Journal for the consideration of both the professional and academic community. In accordance with the general aims and objectives of the Journal, the scope of the current edition is wide and interrogates most contemporary areas of law. The interface between technology and modern living received particular attention in this volume. An article explores the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on legal practice and education. Another article explores the legal framework for safeguarding trademark rights against cybersquatting, and analyzes its impact on the effective legal protection of trademarks. Yet another paper critically examines the inherent tensions between the Cybercrimes Act and the right to freedom of expression in Nigeria. The structure, workability and efficiency of Nigeria’s federalism are also explored. Two papers challenge the operability of Nigeria’s federal arrangement while two other papers interrogate regional separatism as a manifestation of Nigeria’s failing federal arrangement. Regulatory structures are explored and remedies and sanctions are investigated. We have taken especial care to ensure that the papers published in the current edition are not solely of academic curiosity, but also find practical application in professional practice. We are deeply grateful to the authors and contributors of the published papers, and acknowledge that those papers enriched this Journal.
